My Story
I started this amazing journey back in 2019 in a little seaside holiday town called Betty’s Bay. I was newly divorced and trying to cope with some other life hiccups at the same time. As ‘therapy’ I started painting on stones, my first stone being a little owl on a pebble found on the local beach.
The bug bit and I started walking along Blouberg beach dropping off stones that I had made with S.C as my art signature.
By 2021 I was a regular ‘stone dropper’. The joy of creating and giving was the best medicine I could have imagined! I met so many wonderful people who, like myself, were taking it one day at a time, dealing with all the life twists that are inevitable with being part of the machine we know as the human race.
By 2022 I was taking regular orders for my stone craft and with the encouragement and support of friends and family, I expanded into making stone jewellery as well as giving stone painting lessons.
My journey is continually bringing me in contact with so many amazing people! I am reminded every day how something as simple as a kind gesture, or a listening ear, can have a profound impact on someone else’s day. Facilitated in the giving of a little pebble.
After having taught Grade R (5-6 year olds) for 27 years, I have decided to go full time with my rock art. Same ethos, different environment. The dream is to wake up in the morning and be able to create something that is intended to bring joy to others.
